Summer fun in the hot, hot sun!
Updates on life and what's keeping us going in the busy times
Well, once again life is full. And I love it. But it always seems that when life is full something suffers. And in this season of my life, my small business is what is going to be left behind and "suffer" a bit. And I am ok with that. I just wanted to give you all a little update on what's been going on and what is coming in the future.
My new job has left me with a lot less time at home, and less time to cook, clean, and work on my small business. But it has given plenty of opportunities for my kids to step up to the plate and help with things around the house and take care of the little ones. My kids have also been stepping up to the plate many times each week. With four kids playing ball in the summer there are not many nights at home to catch up on these things either. My youngest son is done with his baseball season and the girls have their end-of-the-season tournaments this coming week. My oldest son will be playing into July because of the Legion team he is on. I love watching them play so it's been a fun summer, just a very full one.
I'm grateful that we got to have a little getaway at the beginning of the summer to Great Wolf Lodge with just our family. It was so much fun. The kids LOVED all the water slides and we loved being somewhere different and together for a few days. We look forward to some time with our extended family in July.
Speaking of July, I am going to be having a Christmas in July sale where I will be selling a limited number of custom ornaments. If you're looking for a custom ornament to have as a gift or to hang on your own tree this Christmas make sure you check your emails for an announcement about the sale of those custom pieces. There will be a limited number of ornaments sold. The ornaments could have a variety of things: names for stocking tags, painted family portraits, painted homes, or Scripture. You think of what you'd like and we will make it happen (within reason of course).
Our Vocation book chat will be coming back soon. I haven't taken the time to read much lately. With work and ball games, I'm lucky if I can stay awake to read a chapter of anything these days. But that will change very soon. I do love sharing about books and reading because it is something I love. I would like to invite others to join in this conversation to help us consider what we read and why we read and all the other bookish things. In the next week or so you will see a post from a guest author on this topic, and there are other friends who have great insights who might join us along the way. These substack offerings will be in a specific category, so if at any time you decide that one of these niche topics is not for you it is possible to choose just the topics you want to come directly to email. That is one of the things I love about substack. Please feel free to give feedback at any time as well! I love hearing what you think of the content being offered.
I will be back at the end of this week with the monthly DWELL post for June (need to squeak it in before we get to July!!) and then watch for a fun tutorial on a storage hack I have been using to get our board game collection more organized. Until then, here are some links for some of my favorite things right now. If you use my link it won't cost you any extra but I will get a small kickback for sharing it with you. Thanks in advance for supporting my family in this way if you so choose.
